We may never get a "Galaxy Quest 2," but it certainly wouldn't have been the same without Alan Rickman. Rest in peace, buddy.
For the one (and only) "Galaxy Quest," a Loire Chenin Blanc is a fitting match. In particular, a Bougrier 'V' Vouvray is as dry as Rickman's wit.
"Galaxy Quest," directed by Dean Parisot, gently parodies the "Star Trek" franchise and its fans. The story follows the washed-up cast of a cult 1970s science fiction television show, played by Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Rickman. They now spend their days attending fan conventions and reliving their past glories. Their terminally mediocre lives take a turn when they're mistaken for their TV characters by a group of real-life aliens, who are in desperate need of help. Cheerfully abducted soon after, the actors are thrust into a genuine outer space adventure where they must rely on their limited knowledge of their fictional personas to save the day. With its clever premise and talented ensemble, "Galaxy Quest" is a warm, funny, and engaging tribute to science fiction and those who love it.
The Bougrier 'V' Vouvray Sec Dry is a refreshing and versatile white wine, produced in the picturesque Loire Valley of France. On the nose, you are greeted with a captivating bouquet of green apple, quince, and pear, along with subtle hints of honeysuckle, chamomile, and wet stone, alluding to the wine's minerality. It's a breezy, playful wine that'll probably never be appreciated for its true depth and complexity, just like Alan Rickman's character.
